Kelsey Rocking Out

I have a sister who has cerebral palsy. She has always been a wonderful sister. Here she is playing the piano & singing. At about 2 1/2 minutes she really starts to get going. I always thought she would of been a comedian if she wasn't born with her disablility. She always makes us laugh. You can also see my little brother Jeremy with his girlfriend Carissa at the end. I have some old friends that I know will enjoy watching this.

IT finally happened...

Ever since Ethan started to walk we knew he would be on the adventurous side. If it can be climbed, he climbs it. If it can be jumped off of, he jumps. It doesn't matter how high or scary it is. See what I mean? Adam and I have always said, it's only a matter of time before we have to make a trip to the ER for a broken bone. Well IT finally happened. But not quite the way we thought it would. Our sweet little Malia, who just barley started to climb onto the couch, who has NEVER jumped off anything in her life, slipped on our tile, fell, and now has quite the cast on her leg. Yes. She broke her leg just walking around. I really could not believe it was actually broken.

Sunday morning she slipped on the floor and started to cry. Adam went and got her and couldn't get her to stop crying, so I went out there and she finally stopped. After she woke up from her nap we noticed that she wouldn't stand on her leg. We thought she must have twisted it funny or sprained something. So we got ready for church got the stroller so we could push her around and headed out. We thought for sure it would be better later on that day. Well later on the day came around and she still would not stand on it or put any pressure on it at all, otherwise she was fine. She would sit and play and was just fine until she wanted to get up. Since it hadn't improved we decided that she needed to get an x-ray so I was going to take her to urgent care, then I remember that I'm big and pregnant and I can't go in the x-ray room with her so Adam took her. At urgent care they took an x-ray, didn't see a fracture but they they said they would have a radiologist look at it just in case, they pulled and stretched her leg and she was totally fine. Her hip, knee, and ankle joint weren't hurting her at all. Then they push on her shin bone, and she screamed and cried, and they told Adam that it's probably just a sprain.
Um...What?
First of all there is nothing there to sprain, the only place she had pain was on a bone, second of all, when you push on one spot and it hurts, hello FRACTURE, even I knew that! So they sent her home with nothing, not a wrap or splint and told Adam if they heard differently from the radiologist they would let us know. Monday came and she still would not put any pressure on her leg. I felt so bad for her, she wanted so bad to get up and play but she just couldn't, it was seriously so sad. Then right after I put her down for a nap, of course, they call and say oh yeah it's broken. Nice. So I make an appointment with the orthopedic doc. and take her down. She was so good! She was having a great time, until the doctor came in. He looked at her x-ray and says oh there it is! He told to come and look at it and sure enough there is a big line going up the middle of her tibia. It was actually quite obvious, I couldn't believe the doc at urgent care missed that! I could have seen it was broken!
Anyways, he pushed on her leg in that spot and she screams, and says yep it's broken. They come in to put the cast on and she is just loving it! She was totally flirting with the guy doing. Laughing at him and talking to him, little did she know that this knew thing on her leg was going to be there for4 weeks! Ugh, that means no baths, she still can't really walk with it. She's doing ok with it. She gets frustrated when she can't pull it off but other than that she really doesn't pay much attention to it. She is still really mad that she can't get up and walk around, but the doctor said that she will probably figure out a way to walk on it. So we have our little girl in a nice big, HEAVY cast for 4 weeks! She's a trooper so I'm sure she will be just fine!

More Birthday & Easter Pictures

So the pictures are totally out of order and it's just going to have to stay that way because for some reason I can't move them and it's driving me crazy!!
Adam's brother Josh and his girlfriend Lily came down all the way from Utah just to spend a few hours with us! It was good to see them. We had some really good Mexican food, which is always nice.
We hid some Easter baskets with candy in them and Malia of course dug right in along with Ethan. Malia always has a smile on her face as long as there is food involved!

And finally the rest of Ethan's birthday pictures. He loved his birthday and it was so fun to see him start to understand his special day!
All day he kept saying "Happy Birthday to me", and " I want presents and toys." When he finally did open his presents I think it took a total of about 30 seconds and he was done. I don't think I have ever seen a kid rip presents open and them move on to another one as fast as he did!

Malia with her sucker that was just about covered in dirt, but kept her happy

Ethan blowing out the candles that weren't actually lite because of the darn wind, he didn't care though!

Malia hitting the pinata nice and soft
And then there's Ethan hitting it as hard and as fast as he can!

And this is his cake that Adam made for him, all by himself, I was very impressed! And it was really really good!
